Kings of Metal é o sexto álbum da banda lançado em 1988 pela Atlantic Records. O álbum foi o último a apresentar o guitarrista e membro fundador Ross “The Boss” Friedman, que mais tarde voltou à banda punk The Dictators. O baterista Scott Columbus também deixou a banda após este álbum, mas voltou em Louder Than Hell, de 1996, e permaneceu com a banda até 2008.

Em 2017, Loudwire classificou-o como o 13º melhor álbum de power metal de todos os tempos.
